Full EPC for a 138 kV Green field Substation at a Texas Manufacturing Facility

Pike completed the construction of a 138kV greenfield ring bus substation at a manufacturing facility in Texas. The substation included 2-breakers and 4-transformers, 12-15kV MV switchgears, and 4-capacitor banks. Pike’s scope was engineering design, materials management, site grading, substation construction, testing, and commissioning. Pike performed a site visit and ride-along with the general contractor, as well as meetings with the owner and other stakeholders to become familiar with the work and to determine crew and equipment needs, as well as the anticipated durations for the various scopes. Following receipt of a notice to proceed and the start of construction, Pike’s PMO began to monitor production rates, handle inflight client scope changes, and serve as an intermediary between Pike’s field operations and the general contractor. The project was completed within budget and in accordance with the owner’s timeline.
