Innovative Staging Techniques Drive Productivity on a 100 MW/200 MWh Battery Project

This battery project was a 1 Pike effort, including Pike Engineering, Pike Electric, Pike Renewables, and Pike Telecom. Full EPC scope of a substation and transmission connected facility. Included all engineering, site work, foundations, fencing, electrical, substation construction, transmission construction and connection to POI, and commissioning support. BESS consisted of 32- PCS units and 64- 40’ air cooled containers with the handloading of 15,500 Li-ion LFP batteries.

RESULTS

Pike staged battery pallets with lulls and a tool was developed for a mini excavator to pick up the battery and place it in the appropriate rack. This greatly enhanced production and provided better ergonomics for the labor.
